Michael Forrest MBACP Adv. Dip
Psychotherapy and Counselling
![]()
I use an integrative, person centred approach, which in practice means I adapt my approach to the needs of the individual. Each person is different and come with their own unique issues and concerns. I aim to respond to such diversity with flexibility, openness and presence. My intention is to support individuals to gain insight, overcome difficulties and move on with their lives.
I offer a safe, empathic space where you will be supported and understood. I work with a wide range of concerns that include anxiety, stress, bereavement, and relationship issues, and I have extensive experience in working with trauma and bereavement.
I draw upon proven models in the field of process work that includes Core Process Psychotherapy, Focusing, Somatic Experiencing and Nonviolent Communication.
I have been in private practice since 2005 and I am a bereavement counsellor at Rowcroft Hospice as well as a psychotherapist in the NHS. I am also a certified trainer in Nonviolent Communication.
I have been involved in spiritual enquiry and personal growth work since 1988, which has included being a Theravada Buddhist Monk for a number of years.
I offer an initial session at no charge.
