Trained in a number of models, including Psychodynamic, Person Centred and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Lynne works integratively and tailors her approach depending upon the nature of the individual and the issues they come with. However, in general she embraces the psychodynamic principles that highlight the importance of early childhood experiences and the effect that they can have upon current relationships and behaviour patterns. Together she works with her clients to create new possibilities in terms of relationships and an expanded sense of future life choices. She places great importance on her relationship with her clients, and intends that they feel safe, supported and heard in a genuine manner.
Lynne is also interested in how emotional issues can impact upon the body and cause physical pain, and she works to help clients raise awareness of the relationship between their mind, body and emotions. She works in both a short term and long term manner, as appropriate for the client. She offers anything from one-off sessions, to long term work. Standard sessions last 50 minutes and extended sessions last 1 ¼ hours Lynne’s website: www.counselling-psychology.org |
