“The power that made the body heals the body. It happens no other way.” (BJ Palmer,
Developer of Chiropractic)
During my fourth year of medical school in Switzerland in the late 1980s I realised that, while I saw that modern medicine had amazing tools to save people’s lives in crisis situations, this wasn’t
what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. While researching alternative ways in health care I came across chiropractic. The idea of promoting a person’s healing abilities simply by removing
interference to the nervous system caused by spinal misalignments (called Subluxations) made so much sense to me that I decided to enrol at Palmer College of Chiropractic – West in San Jose,
California. Since graduating in late 1993 and having worked as a chiropractor for almost 30 years in various parts of the world, I have personally witnessed countless transformations in patient’s lives due to
the amazing healing potential of the human body, mind and spirit, set in motion simply by removing interference in the nervous system by adjusting subluxations in the spine. NeuroImpulse Protocol (NIP) chiropractic is a relatively recent way of assessing and adjusting your spine and nervous system in a very gentle, yet very powerful and effective way. While my role as a chiropractor is neither diagnosing nor treating specific medical conditions, many of my patients over the years have not just got rid of the pain in their backs, necks, legs, knees, shoulders or other places, headaches or migraines, but also noticed vast improvements in their breathing, digestion, sleep, stamina, concentration, mental state and more, to the degree where their “medical conditions” simply disappeared and medications became superfluous. This in turn allowed them to lead a much more active and fulfilling life and therefore, with the help of continued regular chiropractic adjustments, to further improve and ultimately maintain their state of health and wellbeing. Like in many aspects of our lives, prevention is always better that cure. You don’t need to have symptoms to see a chiropractor. As a matter of fact, the biggest impact of chiropractic care can be seen in people who have had their spine checked regularly from birth, and this includes my own children. Just like a car is far less likely to brake down if serviced regularly from new, you are much more likely to lead a life free of illness and disease if interference in your nervous system is removed on a regular basis before your body starts to break down.
Initial Consultation, 30 minutes: During your Initial Consultation, I take a thorough history including your present and past complaints and other health challenges as well as present and past events
affecting your health and wellbeing. I will then perform a physical examination to assess your spinal and nervous system function. This will then allow me to develop a plan of how to most efficiently and effectively reduce your nerve system interference. Typically, no treatment will be given during this visit. The cost for the Initial Consultation is £45 and includes the Report of Findings.
Report of Findings, 30 minutes: During your second visit, I explain my findings and discuss your
options. While many people strive for optimum health and wellbeing, others decide they simply want to get rid of their pain. The aim is to agree on a realistic plan of action to reach your individual goals as quickly and efficiently as possible. The cost for the Report of Findings is included in the Initial Consultation fee. If agreed, you have the option to receive your first spinal adjustment at the end of the Report of Findings visit, in which case a Regular Spinal Adjustment fee applies (see below).
Regular Spinal Adjustments: Your treatment consists of a series of spinal adjustments depending on your individual needs. Each adjustment only takes between five and ten minutes, followed by a ten minute walk. The cost for each adjustment depends on your individual plan and whether you decide to pay each visit separately or pay upfront for a certain number of visits. Your options are: Single visit: £35, 12 visits: £384 (£32 per visit) or 24 visits: £720 (£30 per visit)
Re-exams, 15 minutes: Typically, every 12th visit is a Re-exam. During this visit, we talk about how you feel your treatment is progressing and I assess the overall improvement in the function of
your spine and nervous system compared to the Initial Consultation or previous Re-exam. Based on this, we then decide how best to continue your care in alignment with your individual goals. Generally, I will also adjust your spine on this visit and the charge is the same as for a Regular Spinal adjustment.
